Delhi
3 Hours Before Flight Time
Arrive at Delhi by international flight. A KVT representative will meet you at the airport and assist you to the vehicle. Later transfer to hotel. Rest of the time free to relax at the hotel or independent activities. Afternoon start Delhi sightseeing. We proceed to Old Delhi and visit Jama Masjid – the largest mosque of Old Delhi built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Later go for an exciting cycle rickshaw ride through lively thoroughfares and bustling alleyways of Old Delhi market rarely visited by typical tourists. Arrive at Khari Baoli and see Asia’s largest wholesale spice market. Our exploration continues as we drive past historic colonial landmarks, such as Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament House, and India Gate—a poignant memorial dedicated to soldiers of the First World War. Arrive at Haridwar railway station by train where a KVT representative will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Relax and unwind at the hotel. Early evening we head into the city, walking through the local market and along the banks of the river Ganga. We stop at the Har-Ki- Pauri Ghat where we witness the Ganga Aarti and soak in the solemn beauty as the flickering lamps float off the steps of the ghat. (Meals: Breakfast)
After an early breakfast we drive for 10 mins to a spot near the Maa Chandi Devi Temple from where we start to cycle. We ride along the Ganga and then through the road skirting the Rajaji National Park forest range (cycle for about 7 kms). Upon arrival, we check into the guest house. The Rajaji National Park, rich in bio-diversity and pristine scenic beauty, is a paradise for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. The national park is home to elephants, tigers, leopards, deer, ghorals and a variety of birds. In the afternoon we head for a Jeep safari through the National Park over hilly terrain with undulating trails surrounded by thick and dense forests, vegetated river beds, unexplored sprawling grasslands and views of the green valleys. Today we cycle to Rishikesh, following the road along the Rajaji National Park forest range. The road ascends gradually as we continue our ride meandering through the foothills and attaining height as we near Rishikesh, the “Yoga capital of the world”. Rishikesh is surrounded by scenic beauty of the mountains, with the holy Ganga flowing through it. After checking into the hotel, you are free to relax or explore Rishikesh on your own. Early evening we walk along the Ganga from Laxman Jhula to Ram Jhula and see some temples along the way. We then head to Parmarth Niketan Ashram ghat to witness the Ganga Aarti. (Cycling distance: Around 25kms / Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)
Early morning we drive for an hour to reach the Kunjapuri Temple. We witness the sunrise and take in the gorgeous panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges. We then participate in an hour of yoga at the site. After that, we trek downhill for about 8 kms passing through forests, villages and farms. Towards the end of trek we see the gushing the Neer Gaddu Waterfall. Upon reaching the road head we drive back to the hotel. After breakfast we start our last day of cycling through the winding roads of the lower Himalayas, providing breathtaking views of Himalayas and pristine Ganga. Upon reaching Shivpuri we check in to a camp. Shivpuri is a small village and popular for white water rafting and beach camps. After some relaxation, those who are interested can participate in adventure sports like rock climbing and waterfall trek. Optional: We can also proceed to Mohan Chatti and participate in adventure activities such as bungee jumping and flying fox on direct payment basis. Today is an exciting day as we enjoy in white water rafting on river Ganga and negate some fine grade rapids over a stretch of 26 kms. This stretch has 10 grade 3 and grade 3+ rapids which such as Three Blind Mice, Cross Fire, Return to Sender, Roller Coaster, Golf Course, Club House etc. We start with a 45 minutes drive to the starting point where we receive safety briefing and put on rafting gear. Guests should make a note that this is a fairly easy stretch and even if unexpected hydraulic or big waves appear they will be effortlessly handled by our expert guides. The rafting experience will take about 2-3 hours, ending near the Laxman Jhula at Rishikesh. We check into the hotel and call it a day. (Rafting distance: Around 26kms / Meals: Breakfast)
After breakfast transfer to Haridwar railway station for train to Delhi. A KVT representative will meet you at the Delhi railway station and assist you to the vehicle. Later transfer to hotel.
