This tour focuses on two contrasting wild nature of India located at the eastern part of the country. We will travel to Kaziranga National Park in the Brahmaputra river valley and see the Greater One Horned Rhinos roaming freely in the wild. Later we fly to Kolkata and drive to Sunderbans to explore the world’s largest mangrove forests and also in search of the Royal Bengal Tiger.
Delhi
3 Hours Before Flight Time
Arrive at Delhi by international flight. A KVT representative will meet you at the airport and assist you to the vehicle. Later you will be transferred to hotel. Afternoon start Delhi sightseeing. We proceed to Old Delhi and visit Jama Masjid – the largest mosque of Old Delhi built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Later go for an exciting cycle rickshaw ride through lively thoroughfares and bustling alleyways of Old Delhi market rarely visited by typical tourists. Arrive at Khari Baoli and see Asia’s largest wholesale spice market. Our exploration continues as we drive past historic colonial landmarks, such as Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament House, and India Gate—a poignant memorial dedicated to soldiers of the First World War. After breakfast transfer to Delhi airport for flight to Guwahati. Assistance on arrival at Guwahati and later drive to the Kaziranga National Park (4.5 to 5.5 hrs drive). Kaziranga National Park is one of the finest and most picturesque wildlife parks in India, located on the banks of Brahmaputra River. It is the ideal habitat for Greater One Horned Rhinoceros as well as for other wildlife also like Indian Elephants, Indian Bison, Swamp Deer or Barasingha, Hog Deer, Wild Water Buffalo etc. In the evening reach Kaziranga National Park and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Early morning explore the Kaziranga National park by an Elephant. Elephant will ride you through the park chasing for a unicorn rhino along with a wide range of rare species. In afternoon, we take a jeep safari to explore more wildlife in the park. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore nature. (Meals: Breakfast)
Today we do 2 jeep safaris into the national park, first in morning and second in evening. This is the best way to experience the wildlife of the park. (Meals: Breakfast)
This morning after breakfast we drive towards Guwahati airport to board the flight for Kolkata. A KVT representative will assist you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for check-in. (Meals: Breakfast)
Morning, after breakfast, at 08:00hrs sharp we will be picked up from the hotel (There is no reliable outfit for serving breakfast on the way, so, please have your breakfast and be ready for departure accordingly). We will travel for about 3 hours to Gadkhali ferry station. From the port we will board motor fitted country boat and set sailing for about 2 hours to the lodge located at Sunderbans. Sunderbans National Park has the world’s largest mangrove forest and it is home to Royal Bengal tigers, saltwater crocodiles, deer, birds and many other wildlife species. Late afternoon set out for a guided village walk to get a feel of the place and people and their local life. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
This National Park is a Tiger Reserve, UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve located in the Sundarbans delta in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is also the habitat for variety of birds, mammals, reptiles and invertebrate species, including the saltwater crocodile. It is the largest mangrove forest in the world where one can find twenty-six of the fifty mangrove types. The best part of this national park is the boat safari where tourists float down through the various river sublets and closely encounter several wild species. Lunch, water and tea services will be arranged on board. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Morning to afternoon we will proceed for another boat safari deep in the Tiger Reserve (we will follow a different route, if necessary, or will repeat the same route if the previous day proved highly productive). If lucky, one may get to see the beautiful Royal Bengal Tiger in the wild. Lunch, water and tea services will be arranged on board. Evening we return to resort. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
In the morning we return back to port touring through the river. Upon arrival we board the vehicle and drive for around 3hrs to Kolkata. Upon arrival we check into our hotel. Rest of the time is free for us to explore the historic city on our own. (Meals: Breakfast)
After breakfast we will be transferred to the Kolkata airport for onward international flight back to home country. (Meals: Breakfast)
