This specially designed itinerary maximizes the chances of thrilling wild tiger in the wild sightings by spending extended periods in India’s prime tiger reserves and national parks.
Located in the rural heart of India, these natural habitats harbour dense vegetation, river systems and lakes that are rich in wildlife – and a bird-watchers’ paradise. Visits to the magnificent Taj Mahal and extraordinary Khajuraho temples provide an added cultural interest.
Delhi
Day after arrival
Arrive at Delhi by international flight. A KVT representative will meet you at the airport and assist you to the vehicle. Later we drive to Jaipur (4 – 5hrs drive). Upon arrival, check-in to the hotel. Jaipur, popularly known as the “Pink City”, is one of the important heritage cities with a rich cultural heritage and colourful past. (Meals: Nil)
After breakfast, we will start Jaipur sightseeing, we will visit City Palace – the palace complex of Kachwaha Rajput clan which is a perfect blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. Further we visit Jantar Mantar (Solar Observatory) – an astronomical treasure house with solar devices that give accurate predictions till date. We will drive past Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) – a five-storied structure of pink sandstone, specially built as a high screen wall for the women of royal household to observe the street festivities without being noticed from outside. We will visit the famous Amer Fort – the hilltop fort built by Maharaja Man Singh. (Meals: Breakfast)
After breakfast, we will drive to Ranthambore (3.5 – 4.5hrs drive) and upon arrival check in to hotel. Formerly a hunting reserve, Ranthambore is one of India’s premier tiger reserves under Project Tiger & home to a number of tigers in the wild. (Meals: Breakfast)
Ranthambore National Park holds one of the largest populations of Tiger in India. There is other wildlife such as several species of monkey, deer, leopards, foxes and crocodiles, birdlife including purple heron, kingfishers, cormorants, parakeets, Jacanda, waders and partridges. Today we will have 2 game drives into the park by Canter – a large open truck on sharing basis. We wake up early morning and leave for our 1st safari into the National Park. Track the tigers in the wild and other wildlife through the morning. After having lunch, we leave again for our 2nd safari in the park. (Meals: Breakfast)
This morning after breakfast we drive to Bharatpur (4 – 5hrs drive) and upon arrival will check-in to hotel. Then we visit Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, also known as Keoladeo National Park, a famous avifauna sanctuary that sees (or saw) thousands of rare and highly endangered birds such as the Siberian Crane come here during the winter season. Over 230 species of birds are known to have made the National Park their home. Migratory birds at Bharatpur bird sanctuary include, several species of Cranes, Pelicans, Geese, Ducks, Eagles, Hawks, Shanks, Stints, Wagtails, Warblers, Wheatears, Flycatchers, Buntings, Larks and Pipits, etc. (Meals: Breakfast)
After breakfast we drive to Agra (1 – 1.5hrs drive), en-route visit Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted royal city constructed by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. This impressive and well-preserved citadel served as the political capital of India’s Mughal Empire under Akbar’s reign, from the year 1571 until 1585. Later we continue our drive to Agra and upon arrival we check in to hotel. Afternoon we visit Agra Fort, whose mighty red sandstone walls enclose the beautiful white marble Pearl Mosque and the palaces, halls, courtyards and fountains of his sons and successors, Jehangir and Shah Jahan. Then we visit the beautiful Taj Mahal, built by the 5th Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan on the banks of River Yamuna in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. A symbol of eternal love, the Taj Mahal is serenely beautiful and never fails to amaze a first time visitor. We spend evening visiting the bazaar where the local artisans do the famous fine marble inlay work. (Meals: Breakfast)
After breakfast we will proceed to Agra railway station to catch our superfast day train to Jhansi. KVT representative will meet us at the railway station and will assist us to vehicle. Later we drive to Khajuraho (3.5 – 4.5hrs drive) and upon arrival will check-in to hotel. Khajuraho is a small town located in the Madhya Pradesh and is famous for groups of Hindu and Jain temples. These temples are a UNESCO World Heritage Site for their beautiful and erotic rock carvings. (Meals: Breakfast)
After breakfast we proceed for a sightseeing of Khajuraho and visit Group of Monuments – UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the Western Group of Temples consist of KandariyaMahadeo, Lakshmana, Chausat Yogini, Jagadambi, Chitragupta, Matangeshwara, Vishwanath and Varaha. Later visit Eastern Group of Temples compriseGhantai, Parasvanath, Adinath, Brahma, Hanuman, Javari and Vamana. Also visit Southern Group of Temples includes Beejamandal, Dulhadev, Jatkari and Chaturbhuj. (Meals: Breakfast)
Morning we will drive to Bandhavgarh (5 – 6hrs drive) and upon arrival we will check in to hotel. Bandhavgarh National Park, the most popular national parks in India is located in the Vindhya Hills of the Umaria district in Madhya Pradesh. The area of Bandhavgarh is being flourished with a large biodiversity, the place which is also being famed to grip highest density of tiger population in India. Similarly, the park also beholds the largest breeding population of leopards and various species of deer. Over the years, the park has shown a great number of increases in the count of the tiger species and this is the reason why tiger tours is so famed to attract large amount of tourists at its vicinity.(Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)
We have 2 game drives into the park, trying to find elusive tiger. We wake up early morning and leave for our 1st safari into the National Park. Track the tigers and other wildlife through the morning. Return to the hotel in the morning and relax and in afternoon we again leave for our 2nd safari in the park.(Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)
Morning we will drive to Kanha (4.5 – 5.5hrs drive) and on arrival will check in to hotel. Kanha National Park is one of the biggest park in Madhya Pradesh. The park has a significant population of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear, Barasingha and Indian wild dog. The lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines of Kanha provided inspiration to Rudyard Kipling for his famous novel “Jungle Book”. (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)
Today we will have 2 game drives into the park, trying to find elusive tiger. We wake up early morning and leave for our 1st safari into the National Park. Track the tigers and other wildlife through the morning. Return to the hotel in the morning. We have a break during the heat of the day before our 2nd game drive in the afternoon. (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)
After breakfast we will be transferred to Jabalpur Airport for flight to Delhi. Upon arrival connect onward international flight back to home country. (Meals: Breakfast)
